Wednesday (23/Jun) Natan Baril, international director of the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF) and partner in Baril Advogados Associados, participated in the Wholesale and Retail Convention organized by Santander in the United Kingdom.

In his online presentation to the group of European investors, Natan presented the Brazilian franchise scenario and talked about Franchising Brasil — a sector project for the internationalization of Brazilian franchise brands carried out by means of a partnership between the Brazilian Franchising Association and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

The executive was a member of the panel about the Latin American market entitled “Focus on trends and development in Latin America”. Besides Natan, the panel was also composed of Jean Charles Cazenave, who represented Mexico and the luxury department stores El Palacio de Hierro. After the presentation given by Jean Charles at 16h, Natan shared his insights on the Brazilian franchise sector.

In his presentation, the ABF international director talked about opportunities in Brazil and the role of the association in such sector. “We make all efforts to offer education to those interested in learning about franchising”, he explained and added: “There are companies expanding their businesses every day via franchising. Regarding earnings, every year we have double-digit growth. The pandemic affected us, but we believe we will be able to make those figures grow again”.

Natan also talked about the events promoted by the association and showed to the international audience the results of the study entitled “Franchise Sector Performance in Brazil”, which reveals data about the earnings, growth, and opening of new units by the largest Brazilian franchise chains.

The executive also mentioned the signature of the renewal of the covenant of Franchising Brasil for the years 2021/2023. “We intend to amplify the services offered to our members. Today we have 163 Brazilian brands operating in many different markets, most of them in the United States, Portugal and Paraguay”, he completes.
