Roadshow Portugal 2021 closes its first edition with the participation of 79 Portuguese and Brazilian entrepreneurs

Franchising Brasil closes the first edition of the new Roadshow online action model. The initiative of the internationalization program for the Brazilian franchise sector – carried out by means of a partnership between the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) – focused on the Portuguese market and gathered 79 entrepreneurs from Brazil and the country in matchmaking and pitching sessions.

The first stage of the action took place on September 21st and consisted of a preparatory workshop for the participating Brazilian franchises. The Portuguese Franchising Association (APF) was responsible for the presentation on the market, addressing the challenges and advantages of expanding into Europe. The initiative was also supported by the Luso-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILB), the Brazilian Embassy in Lisbon, and the Portuguese Business Association (AEP).

The general director of APF, Cristina Matos, gave a true lesson to the 57 Brazilian businesspeople. She spoke, among other points, about the importance of adaptability when entering the Portuguese market. “For example, communication needs to be in Portuguese from Portugal, you can’t use the Brazilian site,” she explained. The director also advised the participants: “Use your creativity when entering the Portuguese market. Then it’s innovation, innovation, and innovation.”

In addition, companies such as Mr. Fit talked about the opening of units in the country and the well-planned success, which involved a cooperative strategy between the companies and Franchising Brasil.

On the 28th, 29th, and 30th, the franchises participated in pitching sessions and meetings with 25 potential Portuguese investors. According to Bruno Amado, executive manager of Franchising Brasil, this was a very important step for the diplomatic-commercial heating.

“This type of collaboration is even more relevant at this time of economic recovery. Including because the Brazilian market has matured and innovated a lot, so we have the chance to take some of our brands abroad with great success,” explains the manager.

And with the success of this Roadshow, a next one is already being planned, focused on Mercosur investors. The action is scheduled to take place during October, also in a virtual way.
