The ceremony, which awarded the five winning Brazilian brands of the International Highlight Award’s third edition, was held yesterday (28). The prize, which recognizes the work of franchises which operate internationally, was created by Franchising Brasil — the result of a partnership between the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF).
The following brands won the latest edition: Bateras Beat, Bibi Calçados, Chilli Beans, Doutor Sofá and Tropicool. The revelation of the award’s result and the delivery of the trophies took place during ABF Expo, one of the largest franchise fairs in the world, which will take place between June 28th and July 1st, in São Paulo. Several criteria were evaluated for the award, such as innovation, initiative, segment and market complexity, operation and the project’s impact for the brand.
“It is gratifying to watch the performance of more and more Brazilian franchises in their internationalization process”, says Bruno Amado, Franchising Brasil’s executive manager. “With this award, we want not only to recognize the efforts of the winning brands in the search for new markets outside Brazil, but also to encourage franchises, which are not yet very advanced in their internationalization process, to invest more and more energy in the expansion strategy”, he adds.
The previous edition of the International Highlight Award awarded five brands: Chilli Beans, Espaçolaser, iGUi, Oakberry and Sobrancelhas Design.
