Maple Bear will open a new franchise unit in Hermosillo, in Mexico, in 2021

Maple Bear, one of the most important bilingual schools in the world is expanding. The company announced the opening of its new unit in the city of Hermosillo, in Mexico. The deal was closed during a trade mission to FIF (Franchise International Fair).

The business trip was supported by Franchising Brasil, a sector project for the internationalization of Brazilian franchise brands carried out by means of a partnership between the Brazilian Association of Franchising (ABF) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

“Our new partner in Mexico is familiar with the educational sector and recognizes Latin America lacks high-quality bilingual schools”, says Vitor Schmid, managing director LATAM of the brand. “Maple Bear saw an opportunity to contribute for social transformation and we will start doing it by providing education services in the franchisee’s city, Hermosillo”, he adds.

The first contact that led to the opening of the new unit happened at FIF, on the ABF stand. Vitor says the partner got interested in the potential of the school, which has several units across the world, and in the potential financial return. “Our educational system and the support we give to owners are crucial”, states the managing director.

The new unit will open in 2021, and the company aims at expanding the chain even more in the Mexican territory. “That market offers us many opportunities. We intend to continue opening units in that area, offering high-quality bilingual education and changing lives via education”, completes Vitor.

Founded in North Vancouver, in British Columbia, Canada, Maple Bear has over 508 units – 341 operational and 161 being implemented. The chain currently provides educational services to over 41 thousand students from Preschool, Elementary School and High School and it is present in 20 countries around the world.

Regarded as one of the leading bilingual schools, Maple Bear uses a Canadian teaching method that is considered as one of the best in the world.

In Latin America, the brand belongs to the SEB Group and has 145 units spread across the Brazilian territory. In 2021, Maple will start operating in Mexico, Argentina, Paraguay and Peru.
