Roadshow Mercosul 2021 concludes with training of Brazilian entrepreneurs and pitching sessions

Franchising Brasil started its latest edition of the new online action model, Roadshow. The initiative of the Brazilian franchise internationalization program – carried out through a partnership between the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) – focused on the Latin American market and gathered 30 participants in the first meeting and 37 in the second.

The activity’s first step took place on October 19th and 20th, when two sessions were organized to train Brazilian franchises: the first one on Paraguay and Bolivia markets and the second one on Argentina and Uruguay. Players talked about market changes and how the economic recovery started to present itself, especially with regards to imports and exports.

On the first day, there was a keynote on the Paraguayan market, with an economic panorama, features and perspectives post-pandemic. In it, Carlos Carvalho Dias, Brazil’s Deputy Secretary of the Embassy of Assunção, talked about commercial questions of the countries’ relationship. “Paraguay is still an underrated market. However, it is very complex and full of opportunities”, he says. And he adds: “Of the Mercosul countries, it was the fastest growing member over the last years.” 

On the 19th, there was also a keynote about the Bolivian market, presented by Ruben Aguiar, senior economist of the Santa Cruz Industry and Commerce Chamber and Gabriel Graciuso, from the Ibero-American Franchise Federation, who talked about the Pizza Hut and KFC market cases in Paraguay.

As for the morning of the 20th, the focus was Argentina and Uruguay, also with Gabriel’s participation. This time, he talked about the “Opportunities and challenges for Brazilian companies”. The Councilman Marcio Blois, of the Brazilian Embassy in Argentina Commercial Sector, gave a speech about the country’s commercial panorama.

“There were several talks from very diverse sectors and different countries, all of them in synergy thinking about the future”, says Bruno Amado, executive manager of Franchising Brasil(Franchising Brazil). “This is being a unique opportunity to strengthen the bonds with global players. We are very excited for next week, with the presentation of our brands to Latin American investors. ”

On the 26th and 27th, the Mercosul Roadshow had pitching sessions for investors. Later, participants gathered in business rounds to discuss their businesses.
