Laser hair removal: see four chains that are international stars

It’s not news that more and more people around the world are turning to laser hair removal, and Brazil is no different. It’s no mistake that Brazil is the world’s fourth largest aesthetics market, trailing only the U.S.A., China and Japan.

With this in mind, find out more about the laser hair removal franchises who are members of Franchising Brasil — the result of a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABF (Brazilian Franchising Association).

Diolaser

Started in 2010 by entrepreneur Claudia Arruda, who is currently the CEO of Grupo Souza Pellizari (GSP), a group holding various companies in the aesthetics, health and wellness areas, Diolaser was created with the goal of offering customers quality treatment using technology that was recognized as the best in the world.

The chain currently has 30 units across Brazil, as well as units outside of the country, in places such as the USA (Florida), Puerto Rico (Fajardo and San Juan), and Europe (London). Diolaser offers training and immersion in management, digital marketing, sales general procedures for opening a business, and much more to potential franchisees.

In 2021, Diolaser was one of the 52 Brazilian brands given the International Franchise Certificate, a Franchising Brasil initiative aimed at recognizing the chains that have advanced the most in the internationalization process.

Emporium da Beleza

Started in 2005 by Ana Paula de Freitas Ferro, Emporium da Beleza is a chain of franchises with a focus on health, beauty and wellness, which saw revenues of R$ 80 million in 2021. There are currently 100 franchises, 80 of which are in Brazil, with the brand planning to reach 200 units and R$ 200 million in revenue by the end of 2022.

There are four options available to potential Emporium da Beleza franchisees: an investment that starts at R$ 179,000 for cities with populations of 80,000 to 100,000; the Slim option, which starts at R$ 301,000; a shopping center and supermarkets option starting at R$ 429,000; and the Premium option, with an investment starting at R$ 620,000.

Espaçolaser

The creation of Ygor Moura, Espaçolaser first opened in São Paulo in 2002 and officially become a franchise in 2015. It is currently recognized as the largest hair removal chain in Brazil, with over 800 units in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay and Chile.

In 2020, Espaçolaser was ranked 26th among the 50 largest Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF) franchises, and in October of this year it was given the International Franchise Certificate by the ABF for the second year running. Espaçolaser was certified in the Master category, covering companies that are at an advanced stage in the internationalization process.

Onodera Estética

Founded in 1981 by Edna Onodera, when she was 66 years old, the Onodera Estética chain of franchises currently has over 50 units in operation. It started out inside of a small Judo school to become a renowned aesthetics and wellness center.

Onodera has its own research center to develop and test all of the products and treatments offered by the chain, which include services like hair removal as well as treatments for cellulite, stretchmarks, spots, acne and localized fat.

With over 40 years of history, it is the only chain is to be given the ABF (Brazilian Franchising Association) Seal of Excellence 13 times, in addition to being given the International Franchise Certificate in 2022 and the Best Franchises in Brazil Award for 2022, which is awarded by Pequenas Empresas & Grandes Negócios magazine.
