Franchising Brasil ends Portugal Trade Mission 2022 with USD 1 million in new business expected

November 7 to 11 marked the dates for the last trade mission of 2022 held by Franchising Brasil – the internationalization program being carried out by the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The initiative’s destination was Brazil’s sister nation of Portugal, and results exceeded expectations: 18 of the participating franchises said they expected to generate over USD 1 million in business over the coming months.

The trip was organized in conjunction with Portuguese Franchising Association (APF) and the Portuguese Business Association (AEP) and it included participation by the following brands: Açaí Concept, Arranjos Express (Sapatop), Best Shape Spa (Emagrecentro), BF Brands Franchising (Bioflora), Braza Churrasqueira, Caricanecas, Eyebrow Design, Global Franchise Net, Goola Açaí, L’entrecôte de Paris, Maria Pitanga, NTW Contabilidade e gestão empresarial, Onodera Estética, School of Rock, The Coffee, Tropicool and Unhas Cariocas.

These numbers are the result of the over 60 business contacts made during the Brazilian executives’ time in the country, with an agenda that included technical visits to shopping centers and commercial centers, Portuguese franchise market immersion workshops, talks, round table discussions, and business talks between Brazilian franchisors and investors in Porto and Lisbon.

Bruno Amado, Executive Manager at Franchising Brazil, was excited about the mission’s success, sharing that “with an agenda that was conceived strategically to join franchisors, franchisees, and new potential business partners, our week in Portugal was full of chances for participating executives to create new business opportunities in a culturally-similar country whose market is open to Brazilians.”

“Being able to rely on all of the support and active participation of the Portuguese Franchising Association and Portuguese Business Association was also fundamental to our success,” adds Bruno. “We’re already looking forward to renewing this incredibly productive partnerships so we have the chance to create even more opportunities like this between these two countries in the coming years for more Franchising Brasil missions,” he says in closing.
