Franchising Brasil plans four international trade missions for the first half of 2023

After closing the last trade mission of 2022, prospecting over USD 1 million in travel to Portugal, new actions planned for the first half of next year already begin to fill the agenda of Franchising Brasil — internationalization program of the Brazilian Association of Franchising (ABF) with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

At the very beginning of March the Mexico Franchise Trade Show takes place, hosted between the 2nd and 4th in Mexico City. Later on, between the 19th and 22nd, Franchise Expo Paris 2023 will take place, one of the biggest international events of the sector, and that, in 2022, generated more than USD 340 thousand and 95 new business contacts for the fifteen brands that made up the delegation organized by Franchising Brasil.

Another highly anticipated event for franchisers, the Multi-Unit Franchising Conference 2023, takes place on April 25–28 in Las Vegas. In the last edition, the seven Brazilian brands followed by the program, which promoted business rounds, B2B meetings and meetings with potential investors prospected no less than USD 2.35 million.

And an unprecedented trade mission to Panama, a huge potential market, scheduled to take place in May, but still without confirmed dates, closes the schedule of the first half of 2023 of Franchising Brasil.

Bruno Amado, executive manager of Franchising Brasil, celebrates the new missions and has no doubt that much more lies ahead: “We are very excited to return to the trade shows and markets where we have already had great experiences with franchisers and franchisees, but also excited to be able to explore new opportunities to present Brazilian franchising to the world,” he concludes.

Promoting Brazilian franchises abroad

In 2022, in addition to the countries already mentioned, trade missions were also conducted to Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Bolivia and the Arab Emirates. These actions resulted in a total of almost USD 4 million in expected new business for the affiliated companies that participated in the trips organized by the program.

In addition to trips filled with exchange activities with local investors and partner entities, Franchising Brasil also promoted training initiatives. These actions prepared the Brazilian entrepreneurs for the business rounds, bringing information about the markets, such as franchising laws, and sharing experiences of people who already operated in the locations.

“The return to in-person events, such as trade shows and missions, were a huge differential for the positive results obtained this year,” says Bruno Amado. “We have total confidence that next year, with the actions we are already planning, we will be able to exceed all expectations again,” he concludes.
