Franchising Brasil completes the Colombia and Peru 2022 Trade Mission with an expectation of more than USD 1 million in business for the next 12 months

Between April 18 and 22, Franchising Brasil — the result of a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABF (Brazilian Franchising Association) — held the Colombia and Peru 2022 Trade Mission to the two Latin American countries. The initiative resulted in 33 new contacts and the expectation of more than USD 1 million in business for the next 12 months.

The action took place in the cities of Bogotá and Lima and had the support of the Peruvian Chamber of Franchises; the Colombian Chamber of Franchises (Colfranquicias); the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL); the Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PromPerú) and the ApexBrasil’s office in Bogotá. The following Brazilian brands participated in the mission: Casa do Construtor; CleanNew; Espaçolaser; SD group; Aquazero; Bibi Calçados; Kumon; L’Entrecôte de Paris and Virtuosa Estética.

The program included an extensive schedule with technical visits to shopping centers and franchise operations, workshops on the respective markets, pitching sessions and several business rounds with potential partners. The repercussion among the participants was positive: in general, the entrepreneurs said that the meetings generated valuable networking.

Thiago Alves, general manager of South American countries at Kumon, mentions that the meetings during the mission were very productive: “As much as Kumon already has operations in both countries, this immersion we had was very important. We managed to strengthen relationships with partner entities of Franchising Brasil, in addition to expanding market knowledge to act with greater security”, he concludes.

“In addition to direct interested contacts, we were able to meet and connect with directors of important institutions in Peru and Colombia to facilitate our networking in the countries and learn more necessary details”, adds Alex Mol, international head of franchising at Encontre Sua Franquia and Acquazero.

Bruno Amado, Franchising Brasil’s executive manager, could not be happier and more accomplished with the results of the mission: “This initiative, in addition to celebrating the resumption of our face-to-face agenda, was very enriching and brought many contacts and negotiations to our brands. The market is very embracing and full of opportunities, we will certainly make more editions”, he quotes with satisfaction.
